Priest: Cam Gigandet WonderCon Roundtable - for CoolShite.net

I had the pleasure of participating in the WonderCon roundtable interviews for the upcoming 3-d film Priest, in theatres May 13.

I have to admit that I was dismissive of Cam Gigandet mostly out of a wrongheaded opinion of him as another vacuous, pretty-boy actor. I’m happy to say that I was wrong. I found him engaging and self-deprecating. In addition to being a black belt in Krav Maga (which explains the rumours that surround him about a starring role in an Iron Fist movie), he has a grounded quality that seems endemic to those born in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

On this day, Gigandet, a brunette, was sporting a head of bleached blond hair. As he was sitting down, I asked if his sister, a celebrity hairstylist, had done his hair. When the interview starts you’ll hear him finishing the answer to my question.

After that, he covered a lot of ground in the short ten minutes of time from his part in Priest with Paul Bettany, the challenge of playing a hero instead of a villain, the upcoming Trespass with Nic Cage and Nicole Kidman, hopes for future superhero roles, and shares some funny stories about his career.

Priest: Paul Bettany WonderCon Roundtable - for CoolShite.net

I had the pleasure of participating in the WonderCon roundtable interviews for the upcoming 3-D film Priest, in theatres May 13.

Paul Bettany is one of the most enjoyable people to meet. As well as being thoughtful and interesting in his storytelling, he has a sense for when to be vulgar, funny or proper. As an example, after the interview as he walked away, he called over his shoulder, “Write nice things or I’ll come and kill you.” You can just barely hear that at the end.

In the roundtable here he goes over how much he enjoyed making Priest, his reaction to the 3-D in the film, why he has been pursuing action roles of late, and what it’s like to be the voice of Jarvis in theIron Man franchise.
